I want to first start off by thanking you for stopping by here. Time is our most precious commodity, so I'm truly grateful that you're spending your valuable time to come visit my site.
I also want to state up front that I'm not trying to be some sort of social media influencer. I could care less about how many social followers I get. I'd rather have 50 followers who I can genuinely help and connect with than 50,000 followers who don't give a shit about their health. All I care about is helping you lead a healthier and more active life, bring awareness to things that may be impacting your health and wellness, and maybe bring some positive change to the future and sustainability of our planet.
So why did I go down this path? A few years ago, I went to my primary care physician because I was concerned about constant fatigue I was experiencing. I couldn't get through a day without taking two to four naps a day. I had brain fog and was having trouble concentrating at work. After my blood tests came back "fine", he said "It's probably just the way you're wired" when he tried to explain my issues. He didn't ask one question about my diet, my exercise regimen, my sleeping habits or my stress levels. He didn't run any test on my gut health. Now I have the utmost respect for healthcare professionals. I have several friends who are doctors. But with that answer, I knew traditional western medicine was not going to get to the root of what I was feeling.
After learning more about natural medicine and the healing properties of food and proper diet, lifestyle and sleep, I eventually found the Institute of Integrative Nutrition where I graduated with a certificate in Health Coaching with an emphasis on gut health. IIN really opened my eyes that there is so much poor and misleading information out there when it comes to health and wellness. With this information, I started working with a functional medicine doctor who did the right tests to determine what was causing my fatigue. I've since completely changed my approach to my diet and sleep hygiene and I've seen these changes improve my success at work, in my racing and my overall energy levels.

So selfishly, I'm starting this thing to continue to hold myself accountable to making the right choices to live a healthy and vibrant life. But, I genuinely enjoy helping others and I get fired up when I see people improving their quality of life through proper diet, exercise and lifestyle choices and getting outside their comfort zone and setting new goals.
My ultimate goal is to bring awareness to current health issues, make you aware of things that may be impacting your health that may not realize and provide practical, simple tips for living a healthy, active and sustainable life. If I can help one person improve their daily habits and make a positive change in the future of their health and longevity, then this whole journey will be worth it.
Some things I put out there are going to contradict conventional thinking. At times, you may think I'm batshit crazy. All I ask is that you keep an open mind. I promise I won't put anything on this site that I don't truly believe or hasn't been well researched and vetted by scientific studies.
Lastly, I live in Boulder, Colorado - one of the most active and healthiest towns in this country. But I'm originally from Philadelphia. We curse A LOT in the City of Brotherly Love. At times, I may use profanity in my posts (if you haven't noticed that already). If that offends you, maybe this place isn't for you. I'm not going to apologize for being myself.
Alright, let's see where this journey goes. Hope you join me.
